In Dusciana Bravura’s sculpture-mosaic we encounter the technical perfection of the Greek-Alexandrine type mosaic, combined, in the carpet, with the magnificence of the Greek-Byzantine type mosaic. Remarkable is the studied capacity of the surface of the sculptural body of the animal, which contrasts strongly with the shining surface of the cushion on which it rests. The combination of the sedan chair, the crown and the treasure, held by the front legs of the doe, takes us far into the fantastic world of oriental fairy tales that certainly struck the fervent imagination of the young artist. —Claudio Spadoni, Isotta Fiorentini Roncuzzi
